Greetings Trojan Band Family!
What an AMAZING week for the Trojan Band! I could not be more proud of every part of the organization and the tremendous representation in performances that resulted from the past week. As mentioned earlier, all Concert Ensembles received Superior ratings at UIL Concert and Sight Reading. Following that, the Winter Guard qualified for State, and yesterday traveled to College Station to compete – receiving 15th of 26 in their division. The Jazz Band performed at the Georgetown Jazz Festival yesterday receiving Superior Ratings and honors to outstanding soloists Sam Bowman, Steven Oh, Liam Gompf and Sam Johnson. With everyone in the Anderson Band Program competing in some capacity this past week…..it’s been a busy and productive start to April! Go Trojans!
The first Hawaii Trip Payment is coming up for April! If you have not signed up it is not too late – but you will definitely want to hop on board because the travel company is purchasing airline tickets for everyone very soon! This is one of my favorite band trips – you won’t want to miss out!! PLEASE NOTE: AISD has published it’s Calendar for the 2018-19 school year and Spring Break is now a week later than it has traditionally been. It will fall on March 18-22, so we are booking our Hawaii trip accordingly (March 15-20).

April 9 – FITNESSGRAM – BRING Athletic shoes and clothes
April 10 – Current Leadership FIT session (planning meeting for Spring Camp, etc.)
April 11 – SHOW REVEAL!! Music for the opener will also be passed out in class and marching instruments distributed for next week’s Spring Marching Camp.
April 13 – LEADERSHIP FIT for all students applying for Leadership for next year
April 17, 18, 19. Spring Band Camp for Winds and Percussion (5pm-7pm). Parent Meeting and Show Off in the Big Gym Thursday April 19 at 6:30pm
April 20 – Wind Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble travel to the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center for Honor Band Taping Concert 8:30-11:30am. We will dress in concert attire and we would love an audience! More info to come.
April 24 – Anderson City Limits Festival!!! Food will be served (available for purchase) – Information coming tomorrow!
