Greetings!

Congrats to all on a successful week of pre-UIL performances.  Each band came away from Tuesday’s Festival with great feedback from judges and we look forward to putting the final touches and finishing up this week as we head into UIL.  UIL performances will take place at the Hays ISD PAC and band performance times are as follows:  Concert Band April 4 (12;00pm) Symphonic Band April 4 (4:30pm) and Wind Ensemble April 5 at 2:15pm.  Please come out and support our wonderful students and cheer them on in the concert and sigh treading rooms!!

This past Thursday, several of our students performed in the second annual Anderson Solo Competition Finals.  Students advanced to this round based on their performances and judge recommendations at the Feb 18 Solo and Ensemble Competitions.  Thursday night’s performances were musical, moving and well prepared – we were so proud of our student and our judges were moved as well.  Please Congratulate Will Sztejnberg, David Poor, Supriti Parajuli, WE Trombone Ensemble, Amy McPherson, Mary White, Bridgette Abbott, Liam Gompf, Jonathan Churchett, Rachel Snead, Tessa Goeser, Jess Rugeley, Sam Johnson, Viveca Holman, Steven Oh, The WE Double Reed Ensemble, Bennett Stirton, and David Oh for their advancement and performance in this round!  Placing in third place was Bennett Stirton on Marimba solo, Second place was David Oh on Vibe solo, and First Place was Jonathan Churchett on Bassoon Solo.  FANTASTIC work to all of our finalists and prize winners!  You are setting the standard!

Best wishes to the WINTER GUARD as they travel to College Station next weekend for TCGC Finals!  They have had a great season and we wish them well in their final performance!
