The football season is upon us, and we are really excited.  With a new season and new coaching staff, we are going to start a new tradition.  On Friday, August 10th, we are going to have a Midnight Madness “BLACKOUT” Party beginning at 9:00 p.m. and running through the first scrimmage in pads at 12:01 a.m.  this is a completely free event. Although not ever ties to the community at large anyone that would like to come is welcome. The target audience is students and families who are on the football team or participate in the football season in someway.

Here’s a tentative schedule of events.

9:00 – Black light party with a DJ/entertainer inside the large gym with giveaway glow-in-the-dark items.  Dancing is highly encouraged!  Outside there will be late night snacks of taco bar and chicken sandwiches from Wally’s, some yummy and cold

snow cones in addition to water, sodas, and Gatorade as long as supplies last.  All food and drinks are free.  

10:15 – everyone moves into the large gym for the midnight madness pep rally and kickoff.  

10:30  – Introduction of the coaches and players, midnight madness style, with a guest MC. spirited introductions, performances, games and competitions pep-rally style with the football coaches and Anderson cheerleaders.

11:20  – well play the school song and then the fight song to send the players out of the gym and into their locker room to begin getting taped interest for their midnight madness scrimmage.

11:30 – find remarks by the football booster club president and head coach and athletic director Daniel Hunter.

11:45 – Spirit line forms from athletics hallway down to the brightly lit turf feel and preparation for the players to exit and head to the field for warm-ups.

12:01 – Scrimmage under the lights on our home turf at the first minute that they are allowed to don full pads.  

We will have custom concert-style/event style T-shirts for sale which will also Beth’s same t-shirts used for our blackout game later in the season versus Del Valle.  This is an exciting new event for our players, coaches and football community at large, and we’d love to see you there Friday night.
