Spring marching camp is here!
We are SO EXCITED to get the ball rolling on next year! This camp takes place April 17-19 from 5 to 7 PM in the Anderson Band Hall. All incoming band freshmen (current 8th graders) and returning members are expected to attend. During this time we will introduce marching fundamentals, start making great sounds on marching instruments, and even work on music for the new show!
For those who will be learning a new marching instrument (trombones learning baritone, horns learning mellophone), an Anderson director
will be visiting Murchison to distribute these. We will post that date as soon as it is confirmed.
What do I need to bring?
- Athletic shoes and comfortable clothing for moving around
- Marching instrument
- Water bottle
- An open mind and a ready-to-learn attitude
- This is a new thing and you’re going to struggle at first. That’s ok! Keep at it and you will be on the path to greatness!
Show-and-tell and Parent Meeting
At the conclusion of our camp, we will do a show-and-tell for all the parents. You will get to see what the students have been working on and
get to hear some of next year’s show music for the first time! It will be Thursday evening, exact time and place TBA.
Then there will be a brief parent meeting where Mrs. Gonzalez will discuss important information for new band parents. This time is great
because it gives new band parents an opportunity to meet current ABBA (Anderson Band Booster Association) members.
