Greetings Trojan Band Fans!
What a FANTASTIC start to the season! We are really proud of the show you put on Thursday night at the Taco Shack Bowl – BRAVO! Now we keep truckin’ – this week we will learn the drill to part 2 ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water.’ You can really help push us far by 1) studying your UDB app with the new part 2 drill 2) Studying your music and how it lines up with the drill ahead of time. You will notice this is a short Ballad so take advantage of that and know your stuff going into rehearsal! You have some great tools at your fingertips. The ballad drill has already been loaded into your Ultimate Drill Book App by our drill writer – make sure you have the software update from Thursday to be able to see it and watch the animations.
Your passoff for the MUSIC to the Ballad (P2: Bridge Over Troubled Water) is due by 1:30pm on Thursday in Smart Music. The assignment is up. Like I said…..this assignment is surprisingly short so knock it out! HINT: As you go, memorize your music. You will want to have it memorized when we learn the drill. Smart Music allows you to watch it as you are passing off, but if you don’t wean your eyes from that you will have trouble when we put it on the field Tuesday and Wednesday.
REMINDER – This week there is NO REHEARSAL tomorrow (Monday Sept 3) and the long evening rehearsal has been moved to TUESDAY NIGHT Sept 4 from 5-7:30pm. ENJOY the long weekend!
For those that are interested in the new ‘Indoor Drumline’ that Mr. Nedley and Mr. Taylor are doing in the winter and spring – there is an informational meeting for those interested Sept 17 at 7:45pm. Students and parents need to attend if you are interested.

**Wind Ensemble – since it’s a 4 day week we are going to do marching instruments all 4 days. We will resume with a concert instrument day next week for region music masterclasses.

Friday – Morning rehearsal, bring Belle Tune
