Have pink flamingos invaded your yard? Did a flock appear at your home? Unsure of how to remove them? Never fear, the Anderson Trojan Band Members have the knack to rid your yard of the pesky pink birds.
What is the flamingo fundraiser? Each August, the Anderson Band assists residents in and around Northwest Hills in removing flocks of flamingos. For two weeks, the students head out in groups, canvassing the area for flamingos. When spotted, the band members will knock on your door and —- for a small donation — rid your real estate of the flock! The funds raised for de-flocking the homes around Austin go to support the Band in various ways, through the Anderson Band Booster Association. Your donation is CRITICAL to bridge the growing gap between limited fine arts funding and the resources needed to continue the tradition of excellence that is the Trojan Band. The funds are dedicated to items such as clinicians and instructional programs for students, the marching drill (the patterns they march on the field), scholarships for students needing assistance with private lessons, and more.
How much should I give? All donations are greatly appreciated!! We have gifts as small as $5, and up to $2000.
I work for a larger company. Can I ask my company to match my donation? YES! Here is a list of EMPLOYEE MATCHING COMPANIES.
Can I sponsor through my business? Absolutely! We have an established sponsorship program, specifically for businesses and organizations. Please see our SPONSORSHIP PAGE for more details.
I don’t feel comfortable giving money. Do you have any other programs that support the band? We do! Join us at Anderson High School (8403 Mesa Drive) on Saturday, August 13 anytime between 10-2pm for the Ford Test Drive! For a brief spin around the neighborhood (10-15 minutes), you can earn $20 for the band. Yes, any driver over 18 years of age can test drive a brand new FORD vehicle and the band gets $20! So please consider donating your time, if funds are limited. We appreciate our supporters!
I’d love to help! What forms of payment are accepted?
- Cash can be given to the band members directly. There are several checks and balances in place to account for your funds.
- Personal Checks can be made out to ABBA and mailed to Anderson Band Booster Association. 8403 Mesa Drive, Austin 78731.
- You may make your donation in our WEBSITE STORE. It is a secure site and provides you with a receipt of your payment.
