Concert uniforms (ladies black dress and gentlemen tuxes) need to be returned starting tomorrow (5/14). Dresses can be washed at home, tux jacket/pants need to be dry cleaned; shirts can be washed at home. This is very important so that we can get our inventory reset before the end of the year. Every year getting these uniforms cleaned and returned is a challenge so please help us get this tackled this week! **Since Anderson-issued concert attire will be returned, attire for the Spring Concert (5/15) and Graduation band is Sunday best (T-Length or longer dresses, slacks, collared shirt and tie or tucked in polo with a belt).
PURCHASING Austin City Limits Tickets for the Fall 2018 Festival? Purchase tickets for the FIRST WEEKEND! That weekend will provide NO CONFLICT with any band activities! Oct 5/6/7 we have a Thursday night game and no competition or rehearsal on Friday or Saturday so it’s the PERFECT weekend to book yourself for ACL Fest. The following weekend we have a Friday night game AND BOA Waco competition on Saturday. Missing a performance for a music festival will result in losing a marching position – THE BAND NEEDS YOU!!!!!
Band Spring Concert and Senior Recognition is this TUESDAY 5/15 in the Anderson Theater. Every senior family and sponsor will get one color version of the program unless you ordered multiple – compliments of ABBA! Everyone else will receive a beautiful bound black and white version of the program. Thanks to all who purchased ads to support the senior program, and HUGE thanks to Jill Knobloch for the design and layout! After the concert we will have a reception in the foyer honoring our graduating seniors!!
DANCE GUARD SPIN CAMP is taking place for all 2018-2019 DANCE GUARD this week – May 14, 15, 16 from 5-7pm in the dance gym. No experience required; wear athletic clothes and shoes. This is open to anyone interested in joining and getting involved in the marching band but who doesn’t necessarily have experience playing an instrument.
OUR YEARLY BAND BANQUET celebrating band and dance guard is Friday May 25 from 7pm-11pm at Sterling Event Center! This is a beautiful and fun end-of year banquet and band formal for all band students to celebrate their year of accomplishments and hard work. Dress is formal/dress up. Students wanting to bring a guest need to get approval from a band director to buy their guest a ticket. Tickets will be on sale May 21 and 22 BEFORE SCHOOL for $25. Your ticket covers dinner and venue costs. You must have a ticket to enter banquet. Dinner will be a nice Italian dinner and dessert followed by a slideshow, director and student awards and a dance.
GRADUATION BAND (required for all non-senior juniors and seniors) is May 31 at 1pm. Please plan on either pick-up and drop-off at the Frank Erwin Center OR plan to ride the shuttles to and from Anderson. Shuttle pick up for band members will be from 10-11am. Attire is Sunday best and warm up begins at noon – you must be in your seat ready to play at that time.
