Greetings!
Congratulations to all of our students on their successes at Solo and Ensemble Saturday! We had great comments from the judges all around and I know our students got great feedback from some amazing educators. Students will get their critique sheets in class tomorrow.
There is an ABBA (Anderson Band Booster Association) meeting TOMORROW at 6pm in the band hall! Even if you have never attended an ABBA meeting before…come to see what it is all about. It’s great to simply be informed of the inner workings of the band. We are currently looking for a WEBMASTER for next year. This is the person that helps maintain the website and keeps everything flowing. We are looking to change website platforms to a more user-friendly version than goDaddy and when we switch we want to get the new person trained. TRUST ME….this is not something you want on the band directors’ plate. When we start messing with the website things happen that are CATASTROPHIC. If you are looking for a perfect way to get involved and you are the tech type PLEASE hop on board.
Tuesday night is the final night of BASKETBALL BAND!! Be in the Bandhall at 6:30pm for pizza and then the game! Let’s cheer on those Trojans!
Recording assignments and/or pass offs have been due as we prepare for UIL. Those grades are going in tonight and tomorrow – so if you still need to get them in, get them in for at least some partial credit at this point!
REMEMBER – this grade card is an important ELIGIBILITY checkpoint for UIL Contest. You must pass your classes to be eligible for UIL. There is one chance for redemption – if you are ineligible you can regain eligibility on the progress report by having ALL passing classes but beyond that the time is up.
MULCH MULCH MULCH!!! **A little extra weekend mulch competition……to the band that sells 550 bags or more COLLECTIVELY (your total sales for all kids in that band) over the 3-day weekend (From Thursday night to Sunday night) Ms. Gonzalez will personally buy you donuts to enjoy in your band class Monday (Tuesday for concert band).**
Winterguard day camp this Saturday the 17th from 12-7 in the Anderson Gym.
