There are a small handful of you going to UIL solo and ensemble – here are some final reminders.  Mr. Cleveland will be at the UIL site so if you have any issues – find him.  All other directors will be at the Anderson site.

UIL LOCATION:  LBJ HIGH SCHOOL

YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW THIS:  All of our students are in WOODWIND JUDGE 3 or BRASS JUDGE 7

Food

There will be snack items available in the cafeteria area throughout the day for students. Lunch will be provided for the judges only; snack items will be available for directors in the library.

Parking

The contest will be held at LBJ High School. Please park in one of the two lots behind the school. See map for more information.

Percussion Trailers may unload in front of the school. Please park trailers in the small parking lot near the tennis courts and baseball fields.

If you are bringing a school bus, you may drop your students off at the front of the school and then park in either lot behind the school

The cafeteria will serve as the warm-up room for all Wind Players.  Please do not use this area as an instrument storage facility for the day.  Students should leave instrument cases on the bus, instrument truck, or outside the room when they perform. Remind students to warm-up ONLY in the cafeteria, not in the hallways or outside.

The contest schedule will be adhered to as closely as possible, but some changes are inevitable, so thank you in advanced for being flexible!  Students should check in with the monitor at their assigned room about 30 minutes prior to the scheduled performance time.  Please be courteous to the monitors, they are volunteer labor and have been instructed to follow the performance schedule as closely as possible.  If there is a problem, please come to the contest office.

Ratings will be posted in the cafeteria as quickly as possible after a student’s performance.  It is not uncommon for this process to take a while.  Please be patient.  Monitors have been instructed NOT to give out ratings to directors, parents, or students.
